Intro
The Volunteer Resource program enhances the community through facilitation of Lajes Field volunteer resources. If you are interested in volunteering through the Volunteer Resource Program at the A&FRC please review the Volunteer Positions (see link under Resources to the right), then:
1. Download and complete the Volunteer Registration and Referral Form (Front) and the DD Form 2793 (Back) to register in the VRP. Or call and make an appointment to complete these forms.
2. Review the orientation (see link under Resources to the right). Volunteers needing childcare must meet with the VRP manager to complete additional paperwork and coordinate availability of childcare.
3. A staff member will work with you and coordinate with an agency to place you in the best fitting position.
Volunteer Appreciation
The awards program affords us the opportunity to recognize those that have been singled out as truly outstanding in their efforts as a volunteer. Here are the instructions for Volunteer Nomination Packages and the Annual Volunteer Excellence Award and VEA Guidance
Volunteer Appreciation Day
Lajes Field hosts a volunteer appreciation day each year. Events allow volunteers within the community to share some quality time and enjoy one another.
Volunteer Hours
Volunteer hours are recorded to provide an official record of volunteering as well as quantifying the overall workload at Lajes Field.
Child Care for Volunteers (sponsored by the Air Force Aid Society)
Some volunteer programs qualify for paid child care services. This program promotes volunteerism at Lajes Field. For additional information contact the A&FRC at 535-4138.
