How To Apply

1. You may submit an application for any position for which you feel qualified. A separate application must be submitted for each position. You may attach a resume to the application. The following forms must be completed, in full, in order to apply for all position. These forms are available in a secure environment and can be filled out online, printed and brought to the HRO.  You will also have to bring a copy of your sponsor’s orders.  We highly recommend keeping a printed copy for your files, as the file cannot be saved (click the link to download):

Applications are maintained in the Human Resources Office (HRO) for a period of 90 days after which they are inactivated, unless you request an extension for an additional 90 days.

2. CHILD & YOUTH POSITIONS: These positions require additional information. Please click here for more details.  

3. CURRENT NAF EMPLOYEES: You may submit AF Form 2550, NAF Application for Promotion or Other Position Change at any time. AF Form 2550 will be kept on file in the HRO until you are selected for the position, you request its removal, or you leave NAF employment. If you are a current employee looking for a second job, you must also complete the Dual Compensation Status form. This form states that you cannot work more than 40 hours total in one week working 2 federal jobs. Please read the form for further information.

·         4. ACTIVE DUTY: Must submit AF Form 3902, Application and Approval for Off-Duty Employment.

·         5. EMPLOYMENT OF MINORS: Applicant must be at least 16 years of age to apply for a NAF position. Some positions have different age requirements.

6. DRIVING POSITIONS: If the job qualifications require the employee to operate a government owned or leased motor vehicle, a copy of a valid local Portuguese Driver's License and driving record is required. The driving record is obtained by the HRO through Security Forces.  In addition, the Continuation Page for Motor Vehicle Operator Positions form is required. Click here to download.
