The Air Force Marathon will take place September 16-19, 2021 at Wright-Patterson AFB, Ohio. The Air and Space Challenge will again be an important part of the 2021 USAF Marathon. Each MAJCOM and USSF may field one full marathon team and one half marathon team to participate in the challenge. I request your assistance in disseminating the information below throughout your installation so your MAJCOM and the USSF can be represented by the best of the best!
MAJCOM Teams are open to all Active Duty Airmen within their respective command. The USSF Team is open to all Active Duty Space Force Guardians, and also, Airmen when assigned to USSF installations, including the National Reconnaissance Office (NRO).
AFSVC Fitness & Sports team will review applications on APPTRAC. Interested athletes may click here to register and apply for the following commands and USSF: ACC, AFMC, AFRC, AFGSC, AETC, AFSOC, AFDW, AMC, PACAF, USAFE, and USSF.
- Three males and one female will be selected for the full marathon.
- Four males and two females will be selected for the half marathon.
Individuals will be selected based upon most recent experience and fastest times.
Members who are selected may attend in a permissive TDY status as authorized by AFI 36-3003, Military Leave Program. Members selected will receive uniforms and reimbursement for portions of travel, registration fee, and lodging.
Additional instructions will be sent to fitness center managers to pass on to unit fitness representatives. Detailed information about the marathon is located at http://www.usafmarathon.com.
